As a Dad

With much prodding, and dramatic hints, my husband got me a digital frame for my birthday. I have our vacation pictures on it playing here on my desk at work so I can glance at it and remember the quality times together with him and as a family too. While reaching for the phone this afternoon a picture was on the screen of him and our youngest in a pool outside a hotel in Newfoundland on our summer vacation. The way he was looking at her with such joy and pride was amazing. I felt at that moment so lucky to have him as the father of my children. And I also felt lucky as a woman to be with him. Often the sexiest thing a guy can do is to be a good dad. When a woman knows there kids are well cared for, nurtured and loved, she has to turn her mood and her energies elsewhere, right? ;)

Us in 2009

In 2009, my husband and I had a very very roller coaster year. We re-invested in our lives together and made a commitment to get to know each other in a more meaningful way. We learned so much about each other and we learned while it is hard to connect, it is so worth it.

We had some date nights, (tee hee), we worked dilligently at communication, we had a weekend getaway and we went away for our 20th wedding anniversary to Alaska! We fell in love all over again and it was not easy at all. It was a lot of work. We had never stopped loving each other. But that whole "being in love" thing is really something to nurture, it can erode easily.

In October we renewed our wedding vows.

I especially love it when he makes me laugh.
